Great site DEALTAKER

When you absolutely positively want to save some green!

Just an update and a link

Greetings,

Just a few updates long overdue again,  Renee had her baby - Isabella - so much like her sister Jacqueline!  Will post photos in the next week.  Isabella has had a couple hurdles this first week but shes turning right around!
Work is still work.  We had an ugly winter storm here and I actually was snowed in!  Shocking, yes this is the first time in almost 25 years that anything stopped my driving!!!

Every one at home is doing okay.  Christmas was very hard without Dad, we think about him every day.  Now with flower season coming its breaking Mom's heart not to have him there as we start this years greenhouses/orders/ up.  We miss him so much.  I started scanning every picture Mom has, wow!  Thats all I can say.

I am still online, alot - probably more than I should be.  I don't think that I stepped foot into the stores at Christmas time - most purchases were online and many of the great deals I got were found at

If you have not been there your nowhere in the online shopping arena.  You should check it out.

Otherwise theres not much just yet... Springs got to be coming its 20degrees today.

Talk soon,
Lisa

I think spring may be in the aire....

Wow, the last couple of days have been just beautiful.  Today it was 61degrees.  I think maybe Mother Natures baiting us in for another cold snap or blizzard - but sure hope not.
The redwing blackbirds are back now, yesterday we saw the first robin and heard a wood duck - today we were like two kids in a candy store when we looked off the the west over the swamp and watched a pair of eagles - immatures circling above.  It was amazing - sure hope they decide to nest in the area.
Hopefully it will stay nice enough out for our seasonal visitors that they will have an easy spring.

Got lasik surgery on Friday - its amazing how well I can see already!  A bit frightening of a procedure but all went well and after all this blurriness goes away I should have 20/20.  Even today I could look up and see the eagles - and when I used the binoculars it was amazing, no clinking frames or glass and none of that adjusting for moving contact lenses.  Yet another bonus!

Joe completed the Birkie this year... year 10 for him.   They did not have much snow up there in the Cable/Hayward this year so they shortened the 50k race to 25k and did away with the timings (with the exception of the elite skiers).  So I guess it is time for spring now - I hear the mountain and road bikes calling.   In fact for 3 days now hes been out road riding.

Work is the same, getting busier with the warmer weather.  I will be moving to day shift soon, for the rest of the year anyways - that should be an experience in itself.  My guess is that the calls are not as graphic as night shift calls are but we shall see.

I have added some interesting sites to the page.  Check them out, some thought provoking and some just fun.

Nothing more for now.  Just enjoying this weather and my new gift of sight!

Until next time - be safe.

Yep it snowed

Well .. yes it snowed and is still snowing.  I posted a bunch more pics from day break and a bit later.  There is about 8" on the ground right now and more to come.  The drifts are pretty big - one of them in the driveway at 730 was 18" a respectible snow drift.  My official NWS report from 730 was 7" and 1.02" of precipitation - heavy snow.  Just checked again and another inch has fallen.    I grabbed the shovel to make a path to feed the birds and its already drifted shut.  Its windy 40 mph gusts - the trees are swaying!    Joes up in Cadotte making his way home.  Should be an interesting trip from Colleens in the SAAB...

Well theres not much more now.  Just working on the music on the page.  Oh and finally getting a coffee.

Going to take another measurement at about 10am for noaa.  Stay warm.

Saturday waiting for this blizzard

Well I went out with the camera today and took a bunch of pictures before this blizzard they are predicting.  Saying that with some uncertainty - were going to get snow but you know the old saying.  Going to get out there and take more as this storm progresses and finally ends sometime on Sunday.  Joe is up in Cable attempting to ski the American Birkibeiner - it rained up there on Wednesday and since they have cut the race in half due to lack of snow.  They are due to get some snow but to late for the race.  I hope he can make it home in the blizzard -

Whats been going on here lately?  Lots, things have been hectic with the parents for starters and were still working on the house.  We finished the interior of the kiln room, making a stairway - and storage area, soon that will be complete and I can get my pottery - painting area done.    Next up - basement.  More pictures to come of the finished projects.  There have been MANY.  Work and families take up most of our time when were not cleaning and storing and I have been working on a large wedding for this springtime.  We still talk about moving out west - still dreaming of the PNW - thus the video.  (Yes Cheri that big rock)

The seed catalogs are a continual source of inspiration until spring comes, planning the gardens and thinking ahead to the Botanical Fair in June.  I am really anticipating spring this year, I go in for lasik eye surgery at the beginning of the month - it will be just wonderful to see again - stinks being blind as a bat!

Work continues to be just that, work.  A necessity that is taking up far to much time
but no one can do without that paycheck.  Good thing I work with some great people on night shift, makes it more bearable.

Stay in touch - and where ever you are today stay safe.
Lisa
